Dr. Alison Reindel is a small animal veterinarian who joined the team at Glove Cities Veterinary Hospital in August 2017. Dr. Reindel’s special interests include preventative medicine, client education, and public health. Dr. Reindel has a deep appreciation for the important role animals play in our daily lives and is passionate about the “One Health” approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health.  Through education and taking measures to ensure the health of pets, Dr. Reindel believes the health of people can be enhanced.


Dr. Reindel grew up in a suburb of Rochester, NY, received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and has received a New York State secondary science teacher certification. For veterinary school, Dr. Reindel traveled to Prince Edward Island, Canada, known for red sand beaches, mussels, and Anne of Green Gables. Dr. Reindel earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island.


In her free time, Dr. Reindel enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, playing fetch with her parent’s Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers (Bailey and Duncan), and riding her sister’s thoroughbred named Twiggy.  


Dr. Reindel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Society, Capital District Veterinary Medical Society, American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Public Health Association.
