There is nothing better than hiking in the Adirondacks this time of year, especially when you can bring your dog! As fun as it can be, you need to take the proper precautions to ensure your furry partner-in-crime stays safe. Here are a few tips:
- Double check their leash and collar to ensure the strength of the buckles/clasps
- Make sure your dog has an up-to-date tag with your contact information and is microchipped
- Be sure to bring enough water, the hotter it is the quicker they can dehydrate
- Find out ahead of time if the trails are maintained and dog friendly
